Women in Wine Oregon Announces Full Schedule for July 19 Conference

Virtual conference welcomes national speakers and panelists promoting inclusion and advancement of female leadership

Portland, Ore. (May 4, 2021) — Women in Wine: Fermenting Change in Oregon, a nonprofit organization fostering inclusion and the advancement of female leadership, announces its full program for a one-day conference on Monday, July 19. Under the 2021 theme of “Connection and Growth,” the virtual event offers a full schedule of panels and workshops providing opportunities for personal and professional development. Tickets are on sale now and available here.

Founded in 2019, Women in Wine Oregon amplifies female voices and promotes female leadership in the wine and beverage industry. While the event was born in Oregon, the annual Women in Wine conference draws a national audience and a roster of speakers and panelists from a wide range of industries.

The July 19 conference features events hosted by speakers of national renown, including an afternoon conversation with Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat Pray Love, and panels moderated by industry experts, including Corinne Iozzio, Editor-in-Chief of Popular Science, and Jennifer Pinto, Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness at Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits.

The conference kicks off with a keynote by Cristie Kerr, professional golfer and winery owner, followed by two panels: Making An Honest Commitment to Diversity and Local Shifts; Global Transformation: Impacting Climate Change. Two workshops will take place concurrently in the afternoon: Approachable Mindfulness: From Reaction to Response, and Finding Courage and Collaboration in Conflict.

Author Kate Dixon will lead an afternoon session around pay equity aptly named Pay Up: Negotiating Your Total Package, followed by a Power Panel moderated by Julia Coney, writer and Contributing Editor at VinePair. The full day closes with a networking happy hour.

Tickets include access to all events, post-event recordings of all sessions, and access to an online forum. The schedule is included below and the full speaker lineup can be found here.

“After a year of physical distance and mundane repetition, we are all craving connection and opportunities for professional and personal development,” said Women in Wine Oregon President Meredith McGough. “This event will provide just that, a day filled with practical resources and speakers who will surely inspire. Our aim is to allow for expanded access to women and men alike who share our commitment to empower and advance female leadership across the wine and beverage industry.”

Scholarships are available for the one-day event, with more information available on the Women in Wine website. The nonprofit has also developed a year-long mentorship program to support long-term growth in the industry.

Tickets for Women in Wine go on sale today, Tuesday, May 4, with early bird pricing ($89 per person) through Oregon Wine Month (May), and for groups of six or more. General admission pricing ($99 per person) starts June 1.
