Moves up after four years at Castello di Amorosa and V. Sattui
Calistoga, Calif. (April 2021) – Castello di Amorosa’s Director of Winemaking Brooks Painter announces the promotion of Shelby Green to a new role as Assistant Winemaker for both Castello di Amorosa and V. Sattui Winery. Shelby joined the wineries in 2017, after completing her Bachelor of Science in Food Science with a minor in Culinary Food Science at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. She has also recently completed her two-year Winemaking Certificate Program at the University of California, Davis.
Post-graduation and prior to joining Castello di Amorosa and V. Sattui Winery she worked at Ferrari-Carano Winery in Sonoma County. “During the last 4 years at V. Sattui she has shown her ability to direct and accomplish the technical goals of the winemaking team. Her dedication is greatly appreciated, and we wish her the best in her career and continued success,” Painter said. She currently works with a wide range of varietals making wines for the two wineries and particularly enjoys Merlots and Pinot Noirs.
In her spare time, Green is an accomplished chef and baker. She lives with her family and her dog, Koda, in Santa Rosa.
