The cloud-based platform combines viticulture knowledge with machine learning and artificial intelligence to produce a self-learning, easy-to-use, and intuitive vineyard OS to assist with decision-making, all on one dashboard.
The wine industry is the world’s largest crop employer, with over 150 million people currently working on commercial to family-owned vineyards. Over the past decade, the industry has faced a unique set of evolving challenges, primarily driven by the current rate of rising temperatures. Unprecedentedly, this past year France and the United States witnessed the earliest harvests ever recorded. Variations in yield estimation, smoke taints, and disease outbreaks are factors that have led to a 30-40% business variability, and accurate real-time data for decision making is the single biggest priority. A Unified Platform
Whether it’s one vineyard or one thousand, the all-in-one dashboard enables you to visually access and benchmark data in real-time, providing greater control and efficiency all from a single screen. The platform does not require any additional hardware purchases and is 100% integration-ready, and works with on-ground IoT devices, hardware sensors, and local weather stations, providing the user with information from existing infrastructure. Users can simultaneously create work order requests, access satellite imagery, download reports, make decisions regarding canopy cover, disease outbreaks, irrigation, yield estimation, and create a time-lapse comparison in a highly secure environment. Future releases will help users know their vintage in advance and understand their carbon footprint. Currently, the platform is web only.
The Companion App
Vine Click (available on iOS and Android) is the platform’s companion app that even works offline. With a single click, users can detect diseases and nutrient deficiency, manage risk and save valuable time. As a fully integrated part of the platform, it also acts as a guidance system offering suggestions to tackle disease, pests, nutrition, or smart irrigation. Users can geo-tag and capture as many images in-situ to gain instant insights. Vine Click will also use augmented reality to drive greater accuracy and visibility, helping solve critical use cases. This feature will be live for users in May 2021.

The platform’s standard version and Vine Click app are available at no cost. The Plus membership plan with premium features starts at $99 annually.
At present, over one hundred wineries have pre-registered for its release. Terraview partnered with Pernod Ricard Spain, Vallformosa, and La Rioja Alta for its beta release in late 2020. The OS currently serves regions such as Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, California, Washington, Oregon, New York, Rioja, Ribera del Duero, La Mancha, Penedès, and Australia. Terraview has raised over $3.5 million to date to carry out its mission. It is backed by some of the most accomplished internet entrepreneurs and counts Binny Bansal, Co-Founder of Flipkart.com, as its lead investor.
