Attendees can enjoy wine tasting experiences at up to four wineries per day on May 22 and 23

APTOS, Calif. (April, 1, 2021)—Santa Cruz Mountain wineries are welcoming wine lovers through their doors for the 25th Annual Vintners’ Festival in May. Vintners’ Festival is a weekend of wine discovery featuring more than 30 wineries in the Santa Cruz Mountains, including some that aren’t typically open to the public. The Vintners’ Festival will take place on Saturday, May 22nd and Sunday, May 23rd and is by reservation only. Tickets are $45 for one day and $80 for two days.

“We’re so excited to welcome guests back to some of our member wineries,” says Wines of the Santa Cruz Mountains Executive Director Keiki McKay. “This festival will be a safe celebration of Santa Cruz Mountains wines as we slowly come out of the pandemic and return to (nearly) normal life.”

Tickets will allow guests to stop at up to four wineries (as timing allows) per day. At each stop, guests will enjoy a fight of three to five wines poured by knowledgeable staff, walking guests through tastings and discussing the particular winemaking process of each wine.

Reservations will all take place at the same times each day at each of our member wineries.

  • Sip Safely guidelines will be followed at all times
  • Group size will be limited to 6 (six) people
  • Reservations/parties may not be combined either before the event or at winery locations the day of the event
  • All tickets for a group must be purchased together in one transaction. For example, a group of four (two couples) will need to designate one person to purchase all four tickets in one transaction
  • Each winery will have capacity restrictions; therefore, reservations will fill up quickly so guests will want to book early, especially for larger groups (4-6 people)

About the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association

Overlooking the renowned Silicon Valley, the Santa Cruz Mountains is a winegrowing region where high tech gives way to high altitude. Spanning 60 miles along the California coast, the appellation is defined by its high-altitude vineyards and unique location at the convergence of the mountains, Pacific Coast and San Francisco Bay. This combination of steep slopes, ridgetops, and cooling marine influences creates a patchwork of microclimates, enabling the region’s nearly 300 growers and wineries to produce excellent wines ranging from sun-loving cabernet sauvignon and merlot to cool-climate pinot noir and chardonnay and more. As most are small, family-owned wineries with limited distribution, the best way to experience Santa Cruz Mountains wines is in the place where they’re grown. Visitors can easily reach the region’s many wineries and tasting rooms by driving in from nearby San Jose or San Francisco. Contrasted with these large cities, the Santa Cruz Mountains is a bucolic region defined by charming small towns and an independent spirit that welcomes those with a taste for the extraordinary.
