March 10th – Founded in 1954, Tonnellerie Berger & Fils has always been at the heart of the Médoc vineyards. Since its creation, it stands out as having a highly technical approach toward the profession. The tastings, and the technical exchanges with winemakers that result from them, dictate the oak selection and the type of toasting. Achieving this harmony is essential for integration into the wine. Therefore, how does one manage during a global pandemic with severely restricted travel and hence, lack of opportunity for in-person tastings?
Agility in the face of the health crisis
Thanks to an innovative process, Tonnellerie Berger & Fils has succeeded in offering its future customers custom tastings, virtually, even though visits to wineries have been postponed due to the health situation. Tastings will be «custom» in the sense that Tonnellerie Berger & Fils will send customers samples of wine suited to their grape varietals to taste during a virtual appointment. Where the cooperage further stands out is by offering customers the opportunity to send Berger their own wine for a personalized recommendation.
Through this “phygital” support (physical + digital), the cooperage totally reinvents virtual tastings!
