Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships
Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA – December 17, 2020 – Caraccioli Cellars is pleased to announce The Best US Sparkling Wine 2020 trophy received from the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC) for their 2014 Brut Rosé. CSWWC announced a total of 37 trophies awarded to the greatest sparkling wine producers around the globe of over 1,000 entries.
ABOUT CARACCIOLI CELLARS
Founded in 2006, the Caraccioli family started making wines from the Santa Lucia Highlands (SLH) American Viticultural Area (AVA) to produce vintage estate méthode champenoise sparkling wines entirely in house. “Our family and team are deeply honored to receive this award,” shared Scott Caraccioli, General Manager, who has shepherded the growth, production, and sales of this acclaimed sparkling wine. “To be recognized as the best sparkling wine in the country by this prestigious competition is reflective of this idyllic growing region and the precise winemaking processes perfected by Michel Salgues” Salgues, previously head winemaker at Roderer Estate, was the founding head winemaker and through his techniques and expertise, the family vision has been precisely executed.
ABOUT THE 2014 BRUT ROSÉ
The 2014 Brut Rosé is comprised of 40 % Pinot Noir and 60% Chardonnay grapes, with half of the grapes coming from their estate Escolle Vineyard. Following the assembly of the cuvée, 1.5% of Pinot Noir was added from a barrel hand-chosen by Salgues. The Brut Rosé was bottled and left to age sur lies for four years. The 2014 Brut Rosé has a limited production of 936 cases (750 ml bottles) and 76 magnum cases.
