Wine Access Invites Prolific Wine Writers to Share the Unwritten Stories Behind Their Books in New “Authors Series”

(September 17, 2020; Napa, Calif.)Wine Access, the online wine retailer focused on removing the barriers to the world’s most inspired wines, is inviting consumers to celebrate “back to school” season and brush up their wine knowledge with the launch of its “Authors Series.” Beginning September 19, Wine Access will present monthly online interviews with the authors of some of the world’s best wine books, offering consumers a rare chance to go beyond the written page to discover the history, culture and regions of wine from some of the most

highly-regarded wine writers. The series will feature video interviews with the authors, conducted by Wine Access Head of Wine Vanessa Conlin MW. The initial lineup of featured authors includes:

  • September 19: Dorothy J. Gaiter & John Brecher authors of Love by the Glass: Tasting Notes from a Marriage
  • October 24: Elizabeth Schneider author of
    Wine for Normal People
  • November 24: Aldo Sohm author of Wine Simple: A Totally Approachable Guide from a World-Class Sommelier and a live tasting of Aldo’s Sohm & Kracher Austrian Grüner Veltliner wines
  • December 19: Jim Clarke author of Wines of South Africa

Dorothy J. Gaiter & John Brecher will be the first guests of the Wine Access Author Series on September 19

The series will kick off on the 19th of September at 7:30 a.m. through Wine Access’ weekly newsletter and on YouTube with an interview featuring former Wall Street Journal wine columnists, Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brecher, whose love of wine grew with their love for each other. Their wine stories are chronicled in their book Love by the Glass: Tasting Notes from a Marriage which was released in 2002 and has been a staple text of the wine industry ever since. From the background behind their book to the reason behind founding “Open That Bottle Night,” Dottie and John will be sharing their stories with the Wine Access team.

Future guests will include: Austrian Sommelier and wine director at Le Bernardin, Aldo Sohm and his book Wine Simple: A Totally Approachable Guide from a World-Class Sommelier, which released last November, along with a tasting of Aldo’s Sohm & Kracher Austrian Grüner Veltliner wines; sommelier Elizabeth Schneider behind the popular wine podcast Wine for Normal People whose book under the same title was also released last November; And wine writer Jim Clarke who has focused his career on South African wines and has compiled his knowledge into a comprehensive book titled Wines of South Africa that released in July of this year.
