Adding to their extensive list of Award- Winning wines, Wise Villa Winery was awarded Gold Medals on both of their 2018 Chardonnay and 2018 Pinot Noir at the recent 2020 International Canned Wine Competition. Their first vintage into the fastest growing wine category, Wise Villa produced canned wine in 4 different varieties: Chardonnay, Rose, Pinot Noir, and Wisdom of Wise Red Blend. These new Gold awards come on the heels of Double Gold/ Best of Class for 2018 Sangiovese, and Gold medals on the 2017 Tannat, 2017 Cabernet Franc, and 2018 Barbara at the Sunset Magazine Wine Competition.
70 producers from all over the world sent in a total of 226 entries representing 15 different countries. Judge Mark Bowery noted that he has “been judging wine professionally for 36 years, but this was my first foray into the canned category. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, across the board. I was especially impressed by the varietal accuracy and deep satisfaction delivered by the Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc submissions.”
Certified Sustainable, Wise Villa Winery embraced the recyclable nature of canned wines as well as the endearing and portable convenience that they contribute to the active outdoor lifestyle. Canned wines have seen double-digit growth this year with no foreseeable end to the current trend.
