The World of Fine Wine magazine presents the World’s Best Wine Lists awards. Now in its seventh year, the awards celebrate quality, passion, and creativity in wine lists globally.
Having established its reputation among hotels, restaurants, and wine bars, the World’s Best Wine Lists is the most rigorous accolade of its kind in the industry. In 2019 there were more than 1,000 entrants from 69 countries, with 20 winners being recognized as the finest of their kind globally.
Judged by an independent group of international experts, our 2020 panel includes award-winning journalist and author, Elin McCoy; World Champion Sommelier, Andreas Larsson; WFW contributing editor, Andrew Jefford; publisher and writer, Ch’ng Poh Tiong; author, Francis Percival; wine blogging pioneer, Alder Yarrow; educator and presenter, James Tidwell MS; and wine writer, Anne Krebiehl MW.
Three-time Louis Roederer International Wine Publication of the Year, The World of Fine Wine has subscribers across 30 countries, covering a broad spectrum of wine lovers. The World’s Best Wine Lists awards were launched to honor the work of those who create and curate wine programs, and to act as a trusted resource for consumers through a star-rating system and category awards.
Described by the late Gerard Basset MS, MW, OBE as “rapidly becoming as coveted as Michelin stars,” the World’s Best Wine Lists awards attract establishments with serious wine programs and a desire to be recognized on a global stage.
“We feel honored to be recognized for the fourth consecutive year by such a prestigious and well-respected publication. It continues to be a rewarding experience for us. The World’s wine selection is accumulated and continuously enriched during the ship’s endless voyage across the globe. We strive to take residents and guests on a journey to discover different and destination-inspired wines every time they dine in the restaurants on board. We consider ourselves ambassadors of the various countries, regions, and producers we visit and by featuring their wines we tell their story.”
Marinela Ivanova, Beverage Manager on The World (Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA)
“Sometimes people do not believe me when I tell them Pix has won the title of Best Champagne and Sparkling Wine List in the World, perhaps because we don’t have white tablecloths and we are not in a big city like New York, Hong Kong, or Paris. But the WBWL judges have seen the passion, attention to detail, and enormous amount of work that goes into the selection and presentation of our list of 500+ sparkling wines from around the world. To receive this recognition for the fifth year in a row from such an honorable publication almost makes me not believe it myself—until I read our list! Absolutely the highest honor we have ever received. And for that, we say thank you and cheers!”
Cheryl Wakerhauser, Pix Pâtisserie (Portland, Oregon, USA)
