Al Fresco Flights, Culinary Experiences and Savoring the Sunset
(Napa, Calif.)— June 5th, 2020— Trefethen Family Vineyards today announced that the winery will be reopening to the public June 10th with a series of new, private, by-appointment-only tastings and culinary experiences that showcase Trefethen’s gorgeous grounds. Weather permitting, the winery will focus on hosting tastings and experiences outdoors—taking advantage of Trefethen’s stunning setting, expansive gardens and vineyard views. Trefethen is also following the Napa County, California and CDC guidelines regarding social distancing, frequent cleaning, the use of masks and more. Historic Winery & Courtyard Flights ($30 per person)
These tastings are a great way to get to know Trefethen and their legacy of crafting world-class estate grown wines. Upon arrival, guests are offered a choice of four distinct flights—Signature, Small Lots, All Reds, and the new Summer Flight. Each flight includes a taste of 5 different wines and, collectively, they reflect the diversity of the Trefethen portfolio. The flights are offered inside their historic winery, originally constructed in 1886, as well as outside in the fresh air of their beautiful adjacent courtyard.
Reserve Tasting with Charcuterie Board ($60 per person)
Trefethen’s updated Reserve Tasting is offered at the Villa – inside the former family home and outside on the deck overlooking the gorgeous gardens first developed by Katie Trefethen in the 1960s. The featured wines are all limited production and always include their impressive Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The inclusion of a charcuterie board with cured meats, local cheeses and estate grown preserves provides a delightful and educational experience of balanced flavors which enhance the enjoyment of these special wines.
Taste the Estate ($90 per person)
Taste the Estate is Trefethen’s quintessential wine and culinary experience, highlighting the synergy of great wine and great food. Enjoy five of Trefethen’s finest wines paired with sublime bites crafted by Winery Chef Chris Kennedy. A sample menu features pairings like Summer Squash Fritter with Tarragon Spiked Goat Cheese paired with their Harmony Chardonnay and Caramelized Spring Onion and Wild Mushroom Tartlet paired with The Cowgirl and The Pilot Merlot. Guests often walk away with a heightened appreciation of the interplay of the flavors and textures of wine and food and are inspired to try new recipes in their own kitchens. This experience is offered inside the Villa, outside on the deck and at a private table in the garden.
Twilight at Trefethen ($150 per person)
New for summer 2020, Twilight at Trefethen is the ultimate private experience. You’ll have the estate to yourself for a private tour followed by a seated tasting with the full Taste the Estate experience described above. There is only one table each night, offered every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening (other nights possible upon request). Summer evenings are glorious in the Napa Valley, and if you are looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply want to relax in a fully private setting, this is the experience for you.
