Opici Wines Finds Its Napa Connection with Their New Wine, ‘the Critic’ Cabernet Sauvignon

Critic BottleGlen Rock, NJ, 4.1.20: Opici Wines is proud to present ‘The Critic’ Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, their newest venture from California. With a suggested retail price of $20 per bottle, this wine provides a great value from the prestigious region of Napa Valley.

‘The Critic’ is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot and sourced from several sub-appellations within Napa, including Mt. Veeder, Rutherford, and Atlas Peak. The wine was hand harvested in early October and then aged for 10 months in 50% American and 50% French oak with a minimum of 1 month in bottle before release. The wine itself has a soft and approachable nose with hints of dark fruit and a touch of vanilla.

The clean, yet eye-catching label depicts the bars of a typewriter spelling out the name of the wine. The concept behind the name ‘The Critic’ is to reflect back to a time when the beauty of a wine was simply in the eye of the beholder. Tasting a wine and deciding the merits for yourself and, in essence, becoming your own Critic.

“We’ve had our eye on a Napa Valley Cabernet for some time now,” stated Don Opici, managing director of Opici Wines. “There is still strong growth being shown in this category in the US market and we felt that The Critic was a great opportunity for us to enter this universe. Not only is the wine a tremendous value, but the packaging is sleek and stands out on the shelf. We are very excited about the potential this new brand poses for our company.”

The Critic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 will be available at restaurants and fine wine stores nationwide. The launch will be accompanied by a full array of POS and integrated marketing support.

The Critic retails for $23 per 750ml bottle. Imported by Opici Wines, Glen Rock, NJ
