LAWineFest organizers continue their legacy with the two-day festival, June 6 & 7, at The Pike Outlets, offering an exploration of taste and a chance to support Long Beach City College and the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club
LONG BEACH, CALIF. – In celebration of 15 years of LAWineFest, organizers are proud to announce its return to The Pike Outlets in Downtown Long Beach, June 6 and 7. Set your calendars and prepare for all-things-wine, with early bird pricing on tickets for the exclusive two-day event available now.
After a wildly successful event last year in Long Beach, LAWineFest founder Dr. Joel M. Fisher, wine expert and educator, is excited to bring LAWineFest back to The Pike Outlets to again deliver the unique tasting opportunity in a relaxed, fun outdoor setting. Guests will enjoy the coastal breeze and sunshine of the seaside location, with a special chance to mix and mingle with winemakers, sommeliers and craft brewmasters, while tasting award-winning wines and beers from around the globe.
For the last 15 years, Fisher and his team have donated a portion of each event’s proceeds to a worthy non-profit organization, and this year is no exception, this time naming two nonprofits – Long Beach City College Foundation, which is dedicated to raising money to support the students and staff, enhancing the environment of the college district; and the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club, providing educational and sports resources for youth in Northeast Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
“I’m proud to partner with the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club and Long Beach City College, both of which transform the lives of enthusiastic young men and women,” Fisher said. “We are happy to give both charities additional awareness and financial resources, which help them to continue their missions and legacies, as it is more important than ever to provide educational opportunities for our young people.”
Each year the LAWineFest attracts more than 6,000 attendees over the two days, and this beautifully refreshing and trendy location by the harbor is expected to draw even more for 2020, with an expanded area open to ticket holders. With neighboring iconic venues, including the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Queen Mary, Shoreline Village and the Rainbow Lagoon, LAWineFest organizers encourage guests to make a weekend of it and take in all Long Beach has to offer. With award-winning wines from around the globe, including those from boutique wineries (producing less than 2,500 cases), an assortment of craft brews (yes even wine lovers need a change of pace), shopping in artisan boutiques, live music and more – guests will have a first-class ticket to a great weekend.
“Long Beach really gave us a grand welcome last year, and we’re thrilled to be bringing LAWineFest back to Downtown, offering our attendees a chance to discover new wineries, breweries and more, while enjoying all Long Beach has to offer,” LAWineFest director Scherr Lillico said. “We are also thrilled about our sponsors coming onboard already, including Los Angeles Magazine, Nestle, Perfect Hydration Alkaline Water, Welk Luxury Resorts and Hotel Maya. Their support means so much to everyone at LAWineFest, and helps us to benefit the charities.”
After a few hours of sipping, savoring and strolling, take a break and enjoy lobster rolls, brats, sliders, BBQ, ice cream and more from an array of food trucks and booths, available for purchase. When the Fest concludes each day, attendees are encouraged to check out the award-winning restaurants and stores in The Pike Outlets, and elsewhere nearby in the city.
Admission to LAWineFest includes a souvenir wine cup, unlimited wine and craft brew tastings, bottled water, coffee and other samplings.
