January 9, 2020 (Paso Robles, CA) Peachy Canyon Winery is pleased to announce the hiring of Skylar Stuck as its new Director of Sales. Stuck is a 30-year wine industry veteran and has spent the last 23 years working to build brands and promote wines crafted in Paso Robles and the Central Coast. Most recently Stuck worked as General Manager at Bonny Doon Vineyard in Santa Cruz, CA. Previously he was General Manager at Halter Ranch Vineyard for seven years, and Senior Vice President / Export Director at Hope Family Wines, both located in Paso Robles, CA.
“I am very humbled that Josh and Jake asked me to join them at Peachy Canyon at this particular time, since there is such an exciting vibe abuzz at their winery. With the proverbial ‘generational baton’ just having been passed to them from their parents, Doug and Nancy Beckett, there is a lot of change afoot”, Stuck enthused. “Josh and I are so stoked about Peachy Canyon’s future. With a renewed focus on our vineyard-designated Zinfandels, all from family-owned vineyard sites in the Willow Creek, Adelaida and Templeton Gap sub-AVAs, we felt it was time to bring a seasoned professional on board to help us continue the Peachy Canyon legacy,” Jake Beckett reported.
Stuck was born in Portland, Oregon. With stints living in San Francisco, France, Italy, Washington, D.C., New York City and Dallas, TX as he honed his resume, he eventually settled in the Paso Robles area some 23 years ago. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Puget Sound, as well as a Master of Arts in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies. Following a career as an economist, Skylar traded his vocation for his avocation and launched his career in the wine industry. Rising from the ranks of on-premise sales in New York City with the Winebow Group, Stuck has made developing brands for family-owned wineries his calling card. Skylar sits on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly, and is on both the Advisory Board of WiVi and the Trade Committee of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance.
Skylar makes his home in Atascadero, CA where he lives with his wife, Erin. They enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time with their dog, Lucy.
