VineView’s CEO to Speak at Silicon Valley AgTech Conference on May 13

Richard van der Put will address farm data as a business and how VineView delivers the most advanced crop intelligence available.

May 13, 2019 (Napa, Calif.)VineView, the leading provider of vineyard remote sensing technology, is pleased to announce its CEO, Richard van der Put, will be a speaker at this year’s Silicon Valley AgTech Conference.

Held in Santa Clarita, Calif., the conference is the world’s foremost symposium for the ever-advancing ag tech industry and is expected to draw more than 500 attendees. VineView’s van der Put will participate in the conference’s marquee seminar titled, Farm Data as a Business: Collection, Management, and Analytics. The panel discussion will focus on how companies like VineView are monetizing farm data and the challenges of collecting and using agriculture data.

“I am honored to be a part of this year’s conference,” van der Put says. “I’m excited to share VineView’s science-based approach and my vision of our exciting future with such a prestigious gathering of forward-thinking growers, investors and tech scientists.”

After earning his MS in Biomedical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, van der Put spent 15 years developing image analysis algorithms for numerous applications ranging from robotics to cancer treatments. A leading expert in imaging physics and algorithm development, he has led product development teams in both academic and start-up settings.

Launched in 2004, VineView’s technology produces the most advanced vineyard imagery available. Coupled with its proprietary algorithm-driven processing and data analysis, VineView arms vineyard managers with the industry’s most accurate crop intelligence, allowing agriculturists to make evidence-based management decisions to drive sustainability, optimize labor, lower costs, maximize yields and improve quality.

VineView is currently working with vineyards across Bordeaux and California, including the AVAs (American Viticultural Areas) of Lodi, Monterey, Napa Valley, Paso Robles, Santa Barbara and Sonoma.

VineView recently launched its new app and will soon release the mobile version, placing its proprietary technology in the pockets of grape growers, allowing them to access crop analysis and make actionable decisions virtually anywhere via their devices.

As a result of its recent merger with Canadian tech company SkySquirrel Technologies Inc., VineView has grown its operations, and provided the scale necessary to lower the costs of its innovative remote sensing technology, called Calibrated EVI, which greatly surpasses – in detail and data insights – the outdated crop imaging technology called NDVI.
