Judy Jordan Launches Philanthropic Endeavor with Geodesy Wine

Making wine with a purpose

(Tuesday, May 7, 2019 — Santa Rosa, CA) — Judy Jordan, Kathryn Lindstrom, and their experienced team are embarking on a new project by offering a limited collection of wines that fully supports the Wild Goat Edge program, all inspired by gratitude to their agricultural community.

“My next chapter, after selling J Vineyards & Winery in 2015, was always going to be about continuing the legacy of values established and shared with my children,” says Judy Jordan. “Geodesy Wine was founded with the sole purpose of advancing young women from our agricultural community. We connect young women with teachers, mentors, and internship sponsors who will guide, support, and empower them through our Wild Goat Edge Program.”

Kathryn Lindstrom, General Manager, adds, “We are excited to announce that, along with other community partnerships, Wild Goat Edge is collaborating with the Santa Rosa Junior College beginning this summer.”

Geodesy’s micro-lot production offerings, of which all profits fund the Wild Goat Edge program, are site specific from precision-farmed, hand-selected estate vineyards. With expertise in geology and soil science, Judy started her search for exceptional vineyards sites for Geodesy in 2015. She and her team acquired vineyards in Oregon’s Eola-Amity Hills and Chehalem Mountains, Sonoma County’s Petaluma Gap, and Napa Valley. The wines are made by Megan Baccitich, formerly Director of Winemaking for Paul Hobbs Wines.

Winemaker Megan Baccitich adds, “At the core of the Geodesy wine style are geology and geography with wines that pursue a harmony of peak ripeness, purity of aromatics, faceted structure, and nuanced tension that tells the story of the vintage and how we as winegrowers are inspired and haunted by it. I’m humbled to be in a position to craft these amazing wines and inspired to be a part of a team that is doing so much good.”

“The viability of world-class farming in the North Bay is challenged by exorbitant operational expenses, an exodus of youth, and a high cost of living” remarks Judy Jordan. “We want to support the next generation of working families to stay and prosper here. Geodesy is the engine to realize this intent. Our Wild Goat Edge program was created to advance young women to thrive in our local agricultural communities.”

Drink well. Do good. It’s that simple.
